Busta Rhymes’ spirits were high when he hit the ‘Gram earlier this week. On Wednesday night (October 17), the Hip Hop O.G. unveiled the first new Flipmode Squad single in 20 years.

Titled “Flipmode Squad Meets The Conglomerate,” the single reunites Busta, Rah Digga, Rampage, Spliff, Baby Sham and Lord Have Mercy with O.T. Genasis, J-Doe, Trillian, Prayah and Aaron Cooks, while DJ Scratch hits the 1s and 2s.

“THIS IS A VERY HISTORICAL MOMENT!!!!!” he wrote in all caps. “FIRST TIME TWO CLIQUES FROM THE SAME LEGACY!!!! 20 YEARS APART!!!!! NO OTHER MOVEMENT HAS EVER DONE THIS, EVER!!!!!!! ALL ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF BOTH CLIQUES!!!! LET ME JUST ADD, THIS IS THE 1ST RELEASE FROM FLIPMODE IN 20 YEARS!!!!!! Midway though the track, Busta comes in with, “Look, see, I don’t want to be cool with none of you rappers, muthafucka/I’m on my own dick / You remind me that I’m cool with my own clique/Get in the presence of God again/Extracting your soul and grabbin’ up your heart again/Try an’ defeat the God, that’s unimaginable/Because I fuck niggas unfathomable.”

Fans have been patiently waiting for Busta’s next solo album. In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Bus-A-Bus confirmed it’s coming before 2018 is up.

“It’s definitely coming this year,” he says. “9th Wonder has heard the album in its entirety several times. Just Blaze, Rapsody and they have all been very vocal about it through the social media platforms, and I am super grateful to them for cosigning, their endorsements, the whole anticipation that they’ve been creating.”
