MC Lyte & Positive K Revamp A Classic With “I’m Still Not Havin’ It” Video

Back in 1988, MC Lyte and Positive K joined forces for “I’m Not Havin’ It” off The First Priority Music Family: Basement Flavor compilation. Now, the veteran MCs are back with an animated video for a revamped version of the song titled “I’m Still Not Havin’ It.”

Much like the style of Positive K’s chart-topping hit “I Got A Man,” Lyte and K effortlessly ping-pong their verses over a more uptempo beat.

“I find it incredible that after 30 years MC Lyte and I haven’t skipped a beat” Positive K  said in a press release. “We have just as much chemistry now as we did then. A duet album would be phenomenal.”

Lyte added, “Working with him is easy and effortless. The music from ‘Still Not Having It’ is one of my favorite songs from Bill Withers. It takes me back and with the subject matter Pos created, makes it MO Betta.”

The first incarnation of “I’m Not Havin’ It” contained samples of The Pointer Sisters’ 1973 single “Yes We Can Can” and peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its original release.
