Snoop Dogg and media entrepreneur Ted Chung to launch MerryJane.com in October.

Long Beach, California rapper Snoop Dogg has linked up with media entrepreneur Ted Chung to launch MerryJane.com, a website he describes as “the encyclopedia to the cannabis world,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Snoop will serve as the co-founder of MerryJane.com, which will feature news, videos, editorial content, and original programming.

“We’re providing the industry with something that’s void right now,” Snoop Dogg said during TechCrunch Disrupt, The Hollywood Reporter reports. “We are the information hotline for cannabis. We are what’s missing.”

Also serving as co-founder of MerryJane.com is Ted Chung, who expressed his excitement for his latest media endeavor during TechCrunch Disrupt.

“There are few companies out there that have attempted to enter into the marketplace, and their download apps total and page views total are really numbers that we’re going to crush within the first six months,” Ted Chung said. “I think the interest level and the demand is there, it’s just about someone coming to the forefront like Snoop, like our other partners — including actor Seth Rogen — and providing the site and media platform that can take cannabis to the next level.”

MerryJane.com will launch in October, but in the meantime, the website will choose 420 users each day to test the beta version of the site. Potential beta testers can sign up directly through MerryJane.com.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Snoop was investing in an on-demand marijuana delivery company, on behalf of his venture firm Casa Verde Capital. The marijuana delivery startup, titled Eaze, has reportedly raised $10 million from investors.
