The release honors the 25th anniversary of the album’s original release.

Sony Legacy and A Tribe Called Quest announced in a press release the rerelease of the group’s debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rhythm, to celebrate the project’s twenty-fifth anniversary. The album is slated for a November 13 release.

“I had this album in my head for years before I did it,” says Q-Tip, who was joined in A Tribe Called Quest by Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Phife Dawg and Jarobi White for People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rhythm. “Looking at it overall, to see the thoughts of a 16-year-old gain any kind of acknowledgement makes me feel like I have arrived… But to see it in this incarnation … I’m humbled.”

“This album means a lot,”Ali Shaheed Muhammad says in the press release. “It was the beginning of our careers, the beginning of our imprint, the beginning of seeing life the way we saw it, and being able to put it down in words and music.”

People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths of Rhythm will be remastered from the original tapes by Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Power. It is also scheduled to include remixes from rappers whose careers have been inspired by A Tribe Called Quest.

The album was released April 10, 1990 and featured the hit songs “Bonita Applebum,” “Can I Kick It?” and “I Left My Wallet In El Segundo.”

Since then, the group has released four additional albums.
